Can you drive a golf cart on the streets of Mount Pleasant?
Yes, if the driver has a driver’s license, proof of insurance on the golf cart and has obtained a $5.00 dollar permit from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Then the golf cart can be legally operated on secondary residential streets and may cross a primary highway or street during daylight hours only within two miles of their residence.

Are Go-Peds (Motorized skate boards) legal to operate on the streets of Mount Pleasant?
No they are not street legal.

Trash Pick Up and Recycling Information

Trash is normally picked up every Tuesday and Recycling is picked up every other Tuesday - we are in the gray zone on the attached website from the Charleston County Recycling dept. Please have your garbage and trash at the curbside by 7am of trash pick up days.

WHAT THE TRASH MAN WILL COLLECT-
Household garbage
Cardboard Boxes - please break down boxes-
DRIED PAINT CANS (no wet paint can be accepted)- RESIDENTIAL MEDICAL WASTE - Objects such as needles, syringes, and other sharp medical objects must be dispose of properly (use a sharps container, heavy plastic bottle or metal can with a tight fitting lid) to prevent injury to persons handling garbage.
Additional bags of garbage should be placed on top of your container.

WHAT THEY CANNOT COLLECT- Please do not place landscape or construction materials in your container; They will not be able to collect your garbage- Garbage from a Non-Town of Mount Pleasant issued Container

NOTICE OF CHANGE OF SERVICE EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 15, 2008:
Curbside debris will no longer be picked up on the same day as your garbage; it will be picked up the following day. Residents must place their curbside debris with their garbage to allow Public Services crews to mark the location ahead of time.
